Travails of an auto traveller in Bangalore

For all those who have had the pain of asking an auto-rickshaw to come to a particular place, I say "I understand...". For the less fortunate, here it goes. They wont come to places that cost you about Rs 20. They wont come to places that cost you about Rs.40 either and they wont come to places that cost you Rs.80 as well!!!!
Reason: kaali bar beku (means they wont find a return fare)
I dont understand how sitting and saying no to everyone really helps them. Once, driven to an intolerable extent, I asked him: nim mane barthera (shall we go to your house?).. forgive my poor kannada..
This is becoming a serious issue in Bangalore as the bus facilities are next to hopeless in the routes and areas they cover..

Brian Lara... priceless and disappointing!

Got up as early as 5.oo am to catch the NZ-WI Test at Basin Reserve, hoping to see my prince perform great feats.. alas, that was not to be, for he was gone for 1. A placard by a spectator rightly summed up the disappointment as follows:

Ticket to enter the ground: $20
Food and snacks: $10
Watching Brian Lara fail: priceless... and disappointing
Come on Brian! Cricket needs more from you!

We have the power!
Thats it people! India is a recognized nuclear power (well, civilian atleast!). Bush and Manmohan have signed a potentially history-making deal.
More importantly, its a sign of changing times, India is ready to be up there! I say this agurs well for India, even though we all know Bush sometimes does things which he believes are so right that they are so wrong!
